Dermacatch is now called Delfin SkinColorCatch®
Delfin Technologies Ltd has launched a skin colormeter SkinColorCatch that uses the technology developed by Swiss companies Scientis Pharma SA and Colorix SA (published by Baquié and Kasraee, Skin Res Technol, 2014).
Erythema and melanin indices are indicators quantifying skin erythema and pigmentation. With traditional colorimeters erythema measurement is often affected by melanin and vice versa.
This has been solved in the fully portable and pocket sized Delfin SkinColorCatch, which measures erythema and melanin indices insensitive to each other. The device shows RGB, CIE L*a*b* and L*c*h* color coordinates and calculates automatically the ITA degree, which classifies the skin tone.
The measurement is not affected by ambient lighting conditions and the optical orifice of the SkinColorCatch is designed to minimize possible blanching effects caused by the contact pressure against the skin.
